Hi, my name is Maggie Grace Fletcher and I am a teenager with love in my heart, and a passion and drive like no other. I was a high-risk birth and born premature. Each year 1 in 10 babies are born prematurely and premature birth is the number one killer in infants. I was thankful that I was born into a loving family that had the resources to take care and support me. This is what has given me the passion and drive I have today.
This is what lead me to recently develop my platform Great Expectations because I believe every life should have the chance to achieve their dreams and be great. I have always dreamed of being runway model and at the same time striving to accomplish my dream of becoming a neonatologist. Education is important to me not only for my future career but also in general. Although I maybe a teenager I strive every day to learn more and share my passion for life with others.
From a young child I always had an eye for fashion and make-up. I cannot tell you how many times I have asked my mom to help me open an online boutique store. Well she finally caved and here we are today!! I am grateful for the opportunity that I have been given. Oh, and I cannot leave my Dad out because he has been amazing through this entire process. He took on the role of developing my website and let’s just say it has not been easy. I am a bit of a perfectionist and so is he. Dad I love you and want to thank you for all the late nights and tongue biting through the past couple months. I am now the proud owner of my own online boutique and brick mortar store, using my entrepreneur skills which is pretty amazing to think about at the age of 16.
The first task was to pick out a name for my store, this was not difficult at all, we brain stormed and after a short time period, MerciGrace Boutique was it!! Next was a logo – no problem – I knew I wanted to use the Magnolia flower, I wanted to remember my roots and the Magnolia flower was a perfect dedication to my Big Granny Maggie. This all just fit together like a beautiful story as I am named after my Big Granny, Maggie Pierce and my Granny, Wanda Grace Fletcher. I could not think of a better way to honor them. I never met my Big Granny but hearing the stories my mom tells she was a strong willed, witty, brave and amazing woman who worked hard to raise (7) seven children. My Granny Fletcher is a petite lady with the same qualities that raised (5) five children and not to mention she can cook some amazing chicken n dumplings!! These women are my blood line because they raised hard working, strong, and loving children after their husbands passed. They were single moms with children to take care of.
My roots and the fact that I was born a preemie and overcame multiple illnesses as a child made me quite strong, which is essential as an entrepreneur! My online boutique, MerciGrace, dresses women of all ages…with purpose! Using 10% of all sales to benefit March of Dimes and growing my platform “Great Expectations” – I am focused on improving the health of mothers and babies.
I hope you love the boutique – please feel free to give me feedback and ideas on items you might want to see next. Last but not least, I want to thank my Heavenly Father for walking with me through life with me on this journey and I cannot wait to see where he leads me next!
Thank you for visiting my store.
